The unique ambition of Newport Urologic Oncology (NUO) comes from the specialty training of our physicians. We strive to provide patient-centered, compassionate care while blending cutting-edge technologies and the latest cancer treatments. Both Drs Torrey and Yoshida completed their urology residencies at Loma Linda University where empathetic “whole” patient care is accentuated. They then completed Urologic Oncology fellowships at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, California. Here they were trained in the most contemporary surgical techniques (minimally invasive and robotic surgery) and treatments. While it is rare to find even a single fellowship trained urologic oncologist in a large urology practice, we have two such physicians.
NUO is one of the highest volume robotic-oncology surgery practices in Orange County. Our doctors have performed over 2000 robotic-assisted procedures for prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. Furthermore, our physicians are recognized community leaders in Urologic Oncology, frequently speaking on many related topics both via educational forums and various media outlets. Knowing treatment outcomes of our patients is of utmost importance, thus we have established electronic databases which help track these outcomes. This data is then used for clinical research and potential publication. We also help many patients with non-cancerous urologic problems. Last year _____ outpatient visits were made to our office for both cancer and non-cancer related diagnoses.
